New Block of the Month Quilt

Block of the Month for 2010.

The quilt is called Tulip Tiles and is composed of five 12" tulip tile blocks, pieced sashing and corners stones, applique setting triangles, pieced border with applique corners, and 3 additional borders.  It's blue and white color scheme is reminicient of the delft tiles which often feature tulips or windmills.  The pink and green tulips bring color to the tiles and a breath of spring to the project.  I hope you like making this throw-sized quilt, and perhaps learn some new techniques along the way.

I will offer each block for two months for free, then the block will be available for purchase on my web site:  http://www.morningglorydesigns.net/.

Download the free fabric and supply list.

To download blocks go to the BOM page.

  4. I know the point of a BOM is the blocks...but I love the borders! LOL
    The whole thing is beautiful!
And I hope people send you photos of their finished quilts from the previous BOM. That's a real thrill, seeing other people's versions of your quilt!

  5. Fun to find another Kansas quilt designer. Love your new block of the month, and thanks for finding me on blogspot, and my new BOM, too. It will be fun to follow the progress on each other's projects.

  7. Reminds me of my tulips in NE even though I now live in MD. Would love to purchase and download #1, but it is adding $1.00 postage for a download. Hope it gets fixed.

I'm trying to buy block 1 and for some reason it is impossible, i would love to be able to purchase and download that first block. Same as Lou Ann it is also adding a $1.00 postage for a download even so I would not mind paying for the $1.00 postage if I would be able to download. I purchase all the supply list last night. Thank you for this patern and hope to have an answer sone. Have a great day!

  10. Thanks to all of you who commented on my BOM. I have fixed my website shopping cart so that it no longer adds postage to blocks purchased for download. If you are still interested in purchasing Blocks 1 and/or 2 they are now available on my website for $2.00 each download and $2.75 for paper copies sent by mail. I so appreciate all of your comments and suggestions.

  11. Reeze, please accept my sincerest condolences on the passing for your father. We lost my father Dec 2009 after ~ 9 years of Alzheimer's.

Love your tulips, they are a breath of fresh air!

  12. Thanks Alberta, only someone who has "been there" really understands the toll that care-giving can take on our lives and our families. 9 years is a long time to live with it. I pray you hold the good memories of your loved one close. Altho, there were many times you just have to laugh as well. I guess that helps us to get through. Thanks for your kind words of condolence. Reeze
