Whoot whoot - hold the phone! There was an error in the pattern and my wonderful reader Loretta discovered that something was wrong and let me know. THANK YOU!
Here are the two Dog Tooth Bands for Row 7.
The orange and black band with the blue top strip goes between rows 3 and 4 in the Seminole Sampler Quilt Design.
The yellow and black band with the purple bottom strip goes between rows 6 and 8. There is actually a third dog tooth spacer, but it will be part of Row 9, along with the row 9 band.
So if you have been following the BOM and making the rows as we go along, you can now join rows 1-7. Here is what it should look like.
Hope you are having fun with this project. It's not too late to buy the fabric kits for this quilt from ConnectTheBlocks.com.
I am starting to think about ideas for next year's free block of the month. Got a suggestion? Leave a comment with your idea and you will be entered for this month's drawing for a free jelly roll! Have a great July!

Time for another row in the Seminole Sampler BOM. Whoooo Hoooo! These really are fun to design and sew. Writing the patterns for them are a bit of a challenge, however. :-) This month you get two rows, actually, although they are essentially the same. They are spacer rows between to bigger rows of blocks, but they are still done in the Seminole piecing technique and they are integral to the design. Here are the two Dog Tooth Bands for Row 7.

I have loved the Seminole Rows and have been anxiously awaiting each one. I am running very low on my black solid so I need to order more before I make this one.
ReplyDeleteFor next year's BOM, maybe a pieced block and an applique block each month? Maybe forest animals, around the world designs, or 1930's style floral applique blocks with a traditional pieced block?
I am sure what ever you make it will be amazing. I love all of your designs, and thanks again for the great monthly patterns!

Thanks!
I'm not able to get a link to this row (probably operator error) but my idea for next year is soft floral feeling piecing with some applique vines and leaves around and through the piecing. I have had a lot of the "modern" lately and long for more traditional quilts. Thank you for everything you share with us. Whatever you choose will be lovely.
ReplyDeleteI am having fun with this project, but it is a lot more difficult than it looks. Very challenging, which is a good thing. I would enjoy a Twelve Days of Christmas BOM. I think that would be so fun, or birthstone/flowers of the month. Thanks!

A wildflowers and birds BOM would be neat maybe done by region of the US. Thanks for asking.
ReplyDeleteI have a lot of florals that are just sitting there, waiting for good patterns/suggestions to use them! Maybe something where we can use up floral fabrics?
ReplyDeleteSomething to do with nature, like trees, flowers, animals, birds, mountains, aquatic life, etc.
ReplyDeleteI cannot find a link to this months rows.
ReplyDeleteI am unable to find a link either!
ReplyDeleteI would love some more Seminole rows.
ReplyDeleteI love this year's BOM, so bold and colorful! I'd love a BOM that included pieced blocks, some applique and some embroidery as well. Can't wait to see what you decide on.

Hi I cannot find the link to the row. Please help. Thanks
ReplyDeleteI like stars, the traditional stars, 9 patch, 8 pointed and Variable stars. But I think it would be fun to make some different or unique variations on these stars.
ReplyDeleteCathy, you are this month's random winner. Please email me at reeze@morningglorydesigns.com to provide your mailing address for your free jelly roll. Congratulations.
