And the Winner is. . . .

I love giving away patterns to our winners!

And the winner of the free pattern for the F & P Stars and Bars Give away is Comment #17, as chosen by my Random Number Generator.

Congratulations Edie, contact me with your full name and email and I will send your winning pattern.

Just in case you want to get a bit ahead on the free Block of the Month, I am posting these a bit early.  School starts in a few days, and as many of you know, when I get busy with classes sometimes my time gets limited and I don't get the blocks up on time.  So while I still have one free weekend before all hell breaks loose on campus, I am trying to stay ahead of the game and posted blocks 24, 25 and 26!
Block 24 Bleeding Heart

Block 25 Purple Pot O Posies

Block 26 Poppies

Hope you enjoy the extra time to play with these fun blocks.

So what am I working on?  Well, I am trying to learn how to do fabric post cards.  I am doing a post card swap with my guild and so far I have received these great ones in the mail:

Any suggestions would sure be helpful!  I printed off post card backs onto printable fabric but I need to get a stiffener for the middle layer.  I am thinking of Timtex.  If any of you have done this before please give me some suggestions.  I could really use some help on this one.

Thanks and have a great New Year!

  1. Because the majority of my hobby has been in the area of machine embroidery since getting my machine in late 2003, I am linking you to a site for machine embroidery. On her site is a good tutorial to create fabric postcards. The top portion of the tutorial is going to give you a lot of the info you are looking for with the last part being how to use her machine embroidery designs to stitch out the postcard as an in the hoop design. This should give you a bit of the help.

I have another very good tutorial however that site doesn't appear to be available any longer so I can't link to that one sadly. But, yes to your question about the Timtex. Almost every tutorial I have on my computer uses this product. The link above gives a few other options with a link to a place to purchase one of them at a very good price.

I just did a search before posting this comment and found a very good tutorial very similar to the one I can't give you from my files. This is a great tutorial with pictures.

I am also unable to get the blocks. Do you have another site that you would like for us to go to access the blocks you are providing @ this time? I know that this was just an oversight as you are getting crazy already for the start of school.

Thank you for sharing the "VINTAGE SAMPLER" BOM quilt with us. It is TRULY A WONDERFUL GIFT that you are sharing with us. It will be BEAUTIFUL when it is completed.

      Again, Thank you,

  2. Are we supposed to be able to open the pattern from this page? If so, all I am getting is the picture.

  3. As busy as she is, I think she didn't get the "site to go to" posted. I'm sure it will be up later on.

  4. If you go to the top of the page and click on the tab that says 2012, you will find each of the blocks there. You have to scroll down for each one and then click on the link and it will take you to the download.

    Hope this helps!

Thank you for the wonderful patterns. Hope you have a fantastic New Year and that you and yours enjoy all the very best that life has to offer.
